Its working title was “The Flamenco Song.” My first electric-guitar teacher, Þorvaldur Már, specialized in flamenco, and I studied it with him for three years. That influence found its way into the mysterious harmony. Rhythmically, though, the piece is in 7/4, shifting between 3+4 and 4+3.
Nearly ten years later, I recorded it during the sessions for Innermost. I thought the recording sounded really good! ....but beside the other songs it felt like a time capsule from a completely different version of me. This song also included an incredible solo by Tómas Jónsson on piano.
