On the bus, the only thing to do was listen to music
The musicians I got to know through my headphones ended up shaping my musical life. On this album, and especially on ‘Bus Song,’ I take a trip through music that I listened to at that time.
Drawing inspiration from Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Sigur Rós, Debussy, and Bob Dylan. Although I drifted from some of these artist for a time, they’re still a part of me. And in many ways these are still the musicians that I connect most to. After being interviewed a while back in the Icelandic radio, were I talked in length about the importance of my bus trips I decided to make this album which is a meditation on how the events in my teen years and the music I listened to at the time ended up shaping my life.
